Stellar Projects was engaged by Waka Kotahi to assist in the update of their Project Management Manual, a guide used by all project managers and associated people working on infrastructure improvement activities under Waka Kotahi.
This is a significant document covering all aspects of infrastructure project management, from feasibility to project completion, and required updates to reflect current practice and policies. Our involvement included creating life cycle flowcharts, detailed phase flow charts, and detailed activity breakdowns, resources and templates for each phase. To do this, we worked with Waka Kotahi project managers and subject matter experts to ensure the information provided was accurate, and reflected the wider Waka Kotahi project control framework.

Stellar Projects was engaged by Wellington City Council to provide project management services during construction of the Aro Valley Community Centre upgrade that was undertaken by main contractors, PBJ Construction.
The works involved re-positioning the Aro Valley Community Centre to improve walking and cycling connections in the neighbourhood. An extension to the building was constructed to improve accessibility and functionality. This includes new approach spaces and ramp access, and new office, kitchen, and toilet facilities.
The renovation resulted in an improved multi-purpose facility that is better positioned for the Aro Valley community. The upgrade allows the centre to better cater for the diverse range of activities and programmes on offer.

Stellar Projects recently issued practical completion on the SH1/Tarewa Intersection Improvements Project in Whangārei.
The project involved the four laning of SH1 through Whangārei to improve traffic flow and safety and included significant utility relocations and construction of a new four lane bridge over Raumanga Stream. The project also provides a new shared path and signalised intersection improving safety and connectivity for both pedestrians and cyclists to important locations such as Whangārei Hospital, Northland Polytech and the CBD.
Due to its location the project required significant engagement and coordination with local iwi, residents and businesses.
This project was managed by our Infrastructure Delivery team who provided Engineer to Contract, Engineers Representative and MSQA services.

Stellar Projects is thrilled to be part of the progress being made on the City Rail Link Project.
Our construction management team have been assisting City Rail Link Limited with the delivery of Contract 2 (C2), the cut and cover tunnel section on Albert Street between Customs Street West to Wyndham Street.
Construction of the rail tunnels is now complete and the focus of the construction team has shifted to the delivery of an upgraded streetscape environment along Albert Street. As early works for Contract 3, the C2 team also managed the removal of building canopies between Victoria Street and Wellesley Street.

A very special delivery was made to Quay Street overnight at the end of April – the pōhutukawa trees that had been taking a holiday in Teal Park for the duration of construction have returned!
This work is part of the Quay Street Enhancement project, a joint effort from Auckland Transport and Auckland Council. This project aims to enhance connections between the city centre and waterfront by providing significantly more space for pedestrians, cyclists and stakeholders to interface with the Waitematā Harbour. Stellar Projects has been part of this process in the roles of Streetscapes Lead, Project Manager and Engineer’s Representative over the last 3 years and we are proud to have worked alongside LandLAB and Aurecon as well.
We look forward to the increased enjoyment that this project will bring to one of our significant gateways to Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa.

Stellar Projects is acting in the role of Engineer to the Contract and Project Manager for this signicant Auckland Council project in downtown Auckland. Due to be completed in late 2023, the stormwater project involves installing a new major stormwater outfall pipe under Quay Street and the Ports of Auckland site to the sea. This will then allow repairs to be undertaken on the current stormwater culvert. The resulting improvements will provide flooding resilience as well as allowance for future growth in the city.

Stellar Projects was appointed by the Far North District Council to programme manage and later project manage the Kerikeri Wastewater Project, a new treatment plant with double the capacity of the existing plant.
This project was completed in 2021.

Stellar Projects is excited to be acting in a project management role for the Te Hā Noa Victoria Street linear park project, which will offer major improvements to the Auckland midtown area, and which ties into the CRL development of Aotea Station. You can expect to see significant pedestrian amenity including wider paths, more trees, and more seating as well as some innovative sustainability benefits.

This road of national significance was completed in 2022 and will provide a greater degree of resilience to the Wellington region. Stellar Projects provided assistance to Waka Kotahi during the delivery phase with environmental compliance, consenting, and project management. This work involved significant engagement with key stakeholders, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Wellington City Council, Porirua City Council and Kapiti Coast District Council.

This is a well-loved, historically listed community feature with an interesting history. Director, Lucas Nikkel, was Engineer’s Representative managing this project from conception to completion. It comprised construction of approximately 2km of off-road commuter cycleway network, linking Glenfield to Albany as part of the National Cycleway Network.
Stellar Projects was responsible for overseeing consenting, design, estimating, procurement and construction of this project.

Te Whau Pathway consists of a major shared pathway that will eventually link Green Bay Beach via New Lynn to Te Atatu Peninsula along the historic Whau River. Stellar Projects was engaged by Auckland Council to undertake site investigation, developed and detailed design, contract documentation, technical specification and construction MSQA on Stages 1a, 1b and 2a.
Stages 1a and 1b works include Archibald, Olympic, Mcleod and Ken Maunder parks, Queen Mary and Rizal reserves, Roberts Field and Tiroroa Esplanade, with Stage 2a linking some of the completed sections of Stage 1 via boardwalk along the estuary.
