Our recent projects

Te Puāwaitanga

Bay of Islands Sports Hub

The team provided strategic planning advice and undertook community engagement for the establishment of a new sports hub facility at Waipapa, Bay of Islands on behalf of the Far North District Council. We prepared and obtained resource consents under the Far North District Plan, the Northland Regional Plans, and the National Environmental Standards for Freshwater. Due to local interest in this significant project the application was lodged fully notified, and consent was secured within a tight timeframe to secure government funding.

Sweetwater Water Supply Scheme

Far North District Council

The team provided planning advice and prepared a resource consent in relation to this key infrastructure project for a 14km water supply pipeline on behalf of the Far North District Council, in relation to resource consent requirements under the Northland Regional Plans and the National Environmental Standards for Freshwater.

Mangawhai Shared Path

Kaipara District Council

Being a staged multi-year project, the team has prepared various resource consent applications for a shared use pathway located above and below Mean High Water Springs (MHWS) under the Kaipara District Plan, Northland Regional Plans, and the National Environmental Standards for Freshwater. The applications were for staged works along the route of the shared path, extending from Mangawhai to Mangawhai Heads. Consents were granted non-notified.

Mangawhai Coastal Walkway Strategy

Kaipara District Council

The team provided strategic planning advice for the development of strategy to establish an all-tide coastal pathway, extending from Mangawhai village to Mangawhai Heads.

Mainfreight Kaitaia

Industrial Development

The team prepared and lodged a Land-use and discharge consent application with the Far North District Council to increase the intensity of an existing freight activity on State Highway 1 in Kaitaia.

Kaiwaka Footbridges

Kaipara District Council

The team provided planning advice and prepared the resource consent application on behalf of the Kaipara District Council for the construction of two pedestrian footbridges adjoining State Highway 1 in Kaiwaka. The consent was granted non-notified.

Harding Park Pou Tu Te Rangi Reserve

Reserve Management Plan

The team undertook a comprehensive review of the existing Pou Tu o Te Rangi and Harding Park Reserve Management Plan and prepared an updated Reserve Management Plan on behalf of Kaipara District Council. This was undertaken following the process outlined in the Reserves Act 1977 and involved consultation with a number of Council departments and key stakeholders.

Kerikeri Domain

Far North District Council

Our team at Stellar Projects is proud to showcase our success in the redevelopment of Kerikeri Domain, which was completed in close collaboration with our client, Far North District Council. We also worked alongside Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Rēhia partners, stakeholders, elected officials, local businesses, nearby residents, and future users.

Our involvement in this project spanned from funding procurement and community engagement to resource consenting, civil and landscape design, MSQA, and project management. We take pride in delivering a space that is now enjoyed by children and adults alike. Our engagement design and delivery involved coordinating working groups, facilitating design workshops, and early relationship-building between all parties involved. As experts in community engagement, we ensured that the redevelopment met the needs and desires of the local community.

High Quality Terraced Development

Stellar Projects recently obtained resource consent for 8 high end residential townhouses in Island Bay. This development paid regard to the changing character of Island Bay and national direction for high quality medium density housing. Our services included planning, urban and landscape design, and civil design services.

Transmission Gully

Waka Kotahi

This road of national significance was completed in 2022 and will provide a greater degree of resilience to the Wellington region. Stellar Projects provided assistance to Waka Kotahi during the delivery phase with environmental compliance, consenting, and project management. This work involved significant engagement with key stakeholders, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Wellington City Council, Porirua City Council and Kapiti Coast District Council.

Multi-unit industrial development utilising an innovative typology to achieve compact, affordable and flexible workspaces.

Freese Park Seawall

Far North District Council

This environmentally significant project involved a public reserve in Ōmāpere, Northland that was being eroded along the coastline. Working with our client, Far North District Council, Stellar Projects completed optioneering for the best approach in consultation with the local community and iwi. Coastal erosion is a burgeoning issue across the country and we look forward to seeing Freese Park safely protected for years to come.

CHESHIRE RESIDENCES

Apartment Development

Stellar Projects recently obtained a non-notified resource consent for this apartment development in Parnell which included providing landscape design for the terrace. Located on a corner site beside the entrance to Parnell Train Station, this 8-level building will make a great addition to Cheshire Street. The building includes 58 apartment units, a corner commercial unit and three levels of basement parking.

High End Apartments

Edition is a timeless, elegantly designed apartment building situated on 2 Churton Street in the heart of Parnell. It is home to 18 contemporary and spacious homes designed by architect Monk Mackenzie with interiors by Bureaux. We are very proud to have had our planning team contribute to this exciting new build.

SCOTT POINT

Land Development

Scott Point development was a design-led plan change, facilitating the conversion of rural land to a mix of residential, commercial, community and open space zonings.

The area will provide 3,000 dwellings, accommodating growth in the inner north west catchment alongside Hobsonville. Our planning team led the plan change process and associated qualifying development resource consent for 326 lots.
