Stellar Projects prepared an Urban Design Report for this proposed 69 unit, medium-density residential development on a greenfield site in Wellington.
The development includes 45 townhouses, 24 apartments and related landscaping over five development blocks. It will be assessed against Wellington City’s Residential Design Guides and the National Medium Density Design Guide.
The project aims to establish a new prototype for medium-density development on a remote, bare hillside in Wellington. It features a consistent residential language of gable and box forms, creating a strong collective presence. The report emphasised the existence of a local network of walking and bike tracks that link the development site to a rail station and has highlighted the Council’s commitment to providing future bus services to the Grenada North area of the city. To strengthen these local links, the development scheme provides for generous secure bike storage available to each townhouse and apartment in the development.
